Elsewhere it’s a big week of cricket as the Indian Premier League continues and the County Championship begins (weather permitting), both live on Sky Sports. The world’s best golfers are in Georgia, USA, for one of the sport’s most prestigious events, the Masters at Augusta. It’s the first time this game has ever been staged and ahead of this summer’s World Cup, winning it will certainly boost the victors’ hopes of getting their hands on another huge trophy.
The other huge match is the “Finalissima” between the European and South American champions of women’s football, with England hosting Brazil at Wembley. The two meet at the Racecourse Ground on Easter Monday in what’s arguably the biggest game this division’s ever seen. But another venerable club, Notts County, have kept the north Wales side honest and sit just behind them in the table. In the National League, Wrexham – owned by actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds – have led the way this year and already bagged 100 points. But while you can enjoy big games from the Premier League, Championship, Serie A, Scottish Premiership and more, there are a couple of others we think are even bigger. Easter is always a busy time for football, as the leagues in Britain and Europe hurtle towards their conclusion, and the Easter weekend certainly has plenty of live matches – just a part of the action on Virgin TV this week (Monday 3 April to Easter Monday).
